How magical to walk amongst Tim Walker's work at Somerset House today. Props such as giant skeletons, bees, aeroplanes and swan boats sat amongst hundreds of his beautiful images; size and scale and humour. Weaving wonderful worlds, whimsical imaginations making fashion inspiring once again. To see photographs I've pored over in British Vogue for years, torn out and pasted into sketchbooks in real life? It felt like a fairytale, especially in the grand setting and with an ice skating rink just outside. But never sickly, you know? There's always a sort of English muss to it, a slightly off kilter dark undertone which I LOVE because otherwise it would all be a bit twee.
